Before their Hill Country wedding at Inspiring Oaks Ranch in Wimberley, Jasmin and Grant met us in Austin for an engagement session split between Zilker Botanical Garden and Red Bud Isle.
Red Bud Isle gave us the frames in this gallery. The little island below the dam collects driftwood and cypress roots along its banks, and at dusk the lake goes so still it doubles the sky. Jasmin’s long teal dress against that pastel water is one of our favorite color pairings we have ever gotten without planning it. They climbed onto the driftwood, she wrapped her arms around him, and the light did the rest of the work on its own schedule.
An engagement session is also a rehearsal for the wedding day, and this one paid off. By the time we arrived in Wimberley months later, no one needed warming up.
